Masonry Wall Strengthening

The Problem

Grandfather law regarding bill board advertising required owner to strengthen masonry block structure or lose advertising revenue.

The Solution

Owner strengthened existing building using glass frp for in plane shear. Large concrete footings were added to resist overturning of walls. Addition to back of building required shoring prior to construction.
