Project Description

The repair of the Administration Building garage consisted of repair of numerous double tee stems at their bearings. Repair was necessitated by water infiltration into the garage through the joint between the top of the bearing wall and below the tee flange. This leakage resulted in corrosion of the tee stem bearings. Repair of the bearings was performed by shoring of the tee stems and rebuilding of the bearings. The slab on grade pavement adjacent to the top of the garage was removed back six feet from the structure, the soil excavated approximately 3 feet deep and the joint waterproofed with a Bituthane waterproofing system. Once the waterproofing was complete the fill and pavement were replaced. Joints between the tee stems were also resealed with a urethane sealant
