Concrete Repair Outline

These pictures are of spray-applied Sikacrete 213F fireproofing over carbon fiber structural strengthening. Conditions on this job site caused some material to delaminate. To repair these areas, we installed a wire mesh which was anchored every 12″ OC with ¾” standoff from the substrate. This provided a mechanical connection between the material and the substrate in order to prevent further delamination. The fireproofing primer is Sikadur 330 with sand broadcasted until refusal. Once the epoxy cures, the fireproofing may be applied. 213F is a cementitious material that requires at least 2 days of curing before any vibrations can occur anywhere near the site. 1 ½” of material gives the system a 4-hour rating to protect the carbon fiber beneath it.
